Prime Minister delivers strong message to investors

-Over the weekend, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a series of discussions with major corporations and businesses from China, the United States, the European Union, and Japan.The Prime Minister assured foreign investors of Vietnam’s commitment to creating the most favorable conditions for long-term investment, ensuring a win-win partnership.

Commitment to a stable investment environment

In every discussion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highlighted Vietnam’s political stability and strategic geographical advantages, positioning the country as a stable destination for foreign investment.

He said Vietnam is streamlining administrative procedures and the state apparatus to improve its efficiency and effectiveness and strengthening digital transformation to reduce business costs, input costs, logistics costs, and emission, and increase competitiveness.

Prime Minister Chinh said:“We are ready to create opportunities, trust, and the necessary legal framework, infrastructure, and human resources so investors can confidently choose Vietnam as a secure and profitable investment destination. This will benefit businesses and foster their stronger economic ties with Vietnam.”

Acknowledging rapid and unpredictable changes in the global economy, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of a flexible and strategic approach. Based on the strong political ties between Vietnam and partner countries as well as existing cooperation frameworks, he called on businesses and investors to blend their vision with Vietnam’s to foster a shared sense of purpose, collaboration, and mutual growth. Prime Minister Chinh told 25 major Chinese corporations last Friday:“Vietnam and China are at a very positive stage in their relationship. We understand, trust, and respect each other. Now we must translate this goodwill into concrete programs, projects, and action plans. These efforts should deliver tangible benefits to both nations, ultimately improving the lives of our people.”

Businesses urged to help Vietnam achieve growth targets

The Prime Minister outlined Vietnam's key policies and strategic directions, took note of investors’ feedback, and asked ministries and relevant agencies to respond within one week. He emphasized a results-driven approach, with clear objectives, clear responsibilities, clear processes, and measurable outcomes.

Vietnam is aiming for a minimum of 8% GDP growth in 2025, and is hoping for double-digit growth in the following years. The Prime Minister urged investors to play a role in achieving these ambitious targets. He asked the EU for more technology transfers and high-quality investments in the digital economy, the green economy, the circular economy, financial services, and healthcare.

Vietnam seeks support from Japan in green technology, green finance, and digitalization to achieve high, sustainable growth.

Recognizing that the foreign-invested sector is a vital component of the Vietnamese economy, PM Chinh said Vietnam is committed to ensuring the rights and interests of investors under the law. The clear message of his meetings and dialogues with foreign enterprises and his concrete and decisive directives should create fresh momentum for investment by major corporations, enterprises, and partners of Vietnam.
